Poll everywhere and data collection

I liked the idea of this- again, some of my accents weren't visible in my answers, but they worked in the question...go figure!! That's a big one for me- if I can't show them the proper use of accents, then I feel hypocritical!! I'm always stressing the use of accents and how it can change the meaning on the word if not used properly...so that was a bit frustrating for me. I could see using this for culture info or a quick check on prior knowledge. I think the students would have fun with it and its so quick for them, I think its another good tool. This was my Google form. I like this- I'd like to try it with my 8th graders and see if this review could be done this way...I'm thinking that this would also be a better way to do their class participation grade as well. Accents worked perfectly and I think it would cut down on my paper trail as well!!

  1. I was able to text and submit poll everywhere answers to your embedded polls and they updated right away. Your google form is cool too. FYI: there's a way to create forms that will correct students answers automatically. I haven't played around with it yet but it might be an easy way to do quizzes online with instant grading/feedback.

  2. Cool stuff Teri! I like that you created a google poll as a review for your students. For whatever reason, it was way more fun than a worksheet! I like that you can use proper accent marks as well, even though I may have left some off in my responses.

Your Poll Everwhere questions are great! What a fun way to get students to participate while introducing Spanish and Spanish culture!

    1. I love how you used the poll, Teri! You reminded me that polls don't just have to be used to determine how we feel about something but can be instructional, as well! So many of your questions get students to put together the pieces of what they know to come up with the answer. Fabulous use of active learning!

  3. Here's hoping my German skills at language have transferred! ;)
Seriously, I could see how this was a quick way for students to 'check in' with you after instruction--or as a reminder for those who may have had a break in the Spanish learning action(due to the timing of classes)
    Cool beans! ;)

  4. I hope I did okay. You can also resize your poll everywhere by changing the height and width numbers in you HTML code when you embed it. Nice work!
