Infographics

OMG- all three of these drove me crazy!! Actually, I hated all three!!! I finally got easl.ly to work somewhat for me but to be honest I think I like the Smart notebook software better. I had a heck of a time getting the visuals and text to do what I wanted. I STILL can't get it to read my accents, so those aren't there which drives me nuts because it's not correct. I would not use any of these tools for what I need in class. I CAN see where these could work well for charts and graphs- it's just not for me! subject_pronouns title=

  1. This does look cool Teri, but I agree, it is not something that you can't do on SMART notebook.... and in Spanish the accent marks are important. I am going to give it a try.

What would you do with this? Put it on your website? Print it out and use it as a poster? Include it in a Smart notebook presentation or powerpoint slideshow? I feel like students could use it to present information they have learned, but I feel like there are so many cool sites we have learned about in this class they could use, that are more dynamic than this one.

  2. Teri, I feel your pain. The sites were not easy to navigate and they were very touchy! One time I spent 10 minutes just trying to resize something. You made the best of it, though! I keep thinking about how the languages need special tools in order to communicate in the right way. I'm glad Smart Notebook has been working for you.

  3. I think the benefit to this versus SMART notebook is the fact that students could use it to create the graphic organizers. That is a bummer that it doesn't work with accent marks though, I can see that it wouldn't be useful in Spanish.

  4. I so feel your pain--I know it was a challenge to get the German letters to show appropriately at times and while it doesn't happen in English, it's KEY to the understanding of the LANGUAGE you're trying to emulate for the students! It's all about showing them the proper way of doing things and when you can't...it isn't helpful in the least!
